A self-hosted application that lets creators and businesses schedule, manage, and auto-publish short-form video content to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook — all from a single dashboard, using each platform's official API.
ReelRunner is a self-hosted social media automation platform designed to simplify multi-platform video publishing. Instead of manually uploading videos to each social media platform one by one, creators and businesses use ReelRunner to queue, schedule, and publish their video content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook — all from one place.
The app runs on your own computer or server. You drop video files into a folder, configure your posting schedule, and ReelRunner handles the rest: AI-generated captions (powered by DeepSeek), platform-specific formatting, and automated publishing via each platform's official API. No bots, no browser automation, no account bans.
ReelRunner is built for content creators, social media managers, marketing teams, and small-to-medium businesses who publish short-form video content regularly and want to save time by automating the distribution process while staying compliant with platform terms of service.
ReelRunner connects to your social media accounts through secure OAuth 2.0 — the industry-standard authorization protocol used by Google, Meta, and TikTok. You grant ReelRunner permission to publish videos on your behalf. Your access tokens are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and stored only on your local machine. ReelRunner does not send your credentials or tokens to any external server. At no point does ReelRunner access, collect, or store your account passwords.
ReelRunner integrates with:
• TikTok — via TikTok Content Posting API (OAuth 2.0)
• Instagram — via Instagram Graph API (Facebook OAuth 2.0)
• YouTube — via YouTube Data API v3 (Google OAuth 2.0 with PKCE)
• Facebook — via Facebook Graph API (Facebook OAuth 2.0)
Drop .mp4 files into your app's queue folder. ReelRunner picks them up automatically and publishes them according to your schedule — no manual uploads needed.
Captions and hashtags are generated by DeepSeek AI, optimized for each platform's audience and format. You can review and edit before publishing.
Set weekly schedules per platform and per account. Choose specific days and times — videos publish automatically while you focus on creating.
Every platform connection uses official, documented APIs with secure OAuth 2.0 authentication. No scraping, no browser automation, no account bans.
All OAuth tokens, configuration, and video files stay on your machine — encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud or shared with third parties.
Manage all your apps, connected accounts, queues, schedules, and publish history from a clean, responsive web interface accessible via browser.
Track every video published across all platforms with timestamps, status, and links. Full audit trail of your content distribution.
Failed publishes are automatically retried with exponential backoff. Monitor the status of each video — queued, publishing, processing, or live.
Enter your App Store & Play Store links. ReelRunner fetches metadata like app name, icon, and description automatically.
Link your TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook accounts via secure OAuth 2.0 — one click, no passwords stored.
Place .mp4 files in your queue folders. Name them 001.mp4, 002.mp4 for ordered publishing.
Videos go live on schedule — or hit "Publish Now" anytime. AI writes platform-optimized captions and hashtags.
ReelRunner uses Google OAuth 2.0 with PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange) — the most secure OAuth flow available. When you connect your YouTube account, you are redirected to Google's official consent screen where you explicitly grant ReelRunner permission to manage your YouTube channel.
ReelRunner requests the following Google API scopes:
youtube.upload — Required to upload videos to your YouTube channel on your behalf. Without this permission, ReelRunner cannot publish videos.youtube.readonly — Required to read your YouTube channel list (so you can select which channel to publish to) and to check the status of uploaded videos (processing, live, etc.).Through the YouTube Data API v3, ReelRunner accesses only the following data from your Google account:
Your Google OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored exclusively on your local machine in the ReelRunner data/ directory. They are never transmitted to ReelRunner servers (there are none — the app is fully self-hosted). You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting your account from the ReelRunner dashboard, or by visiting Google Account Permissions.
ReelRunner's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
